HOPE
Now that’s one fickle girl!

WISDOM
Isabel was young, and she was enticed by the promises of riches.

HOPE
But she accepted the ring from… from that guy…

WISDOM
The Prince of Light.

HOPE
Yeah, the Prince of light. Doesn’t that mean that she was engaged to him?

WISDOM
Yes she did take the ring. But she didn’t receive it.

HOPE
(thinks about this) (Pause) I feel bad for the Prince of Light. I know what it feels like to be rejected.

WISDOM
This “love ” question, does it have to do with a relationship you have right now?

HOPE
A relationship I had ! I don’t know if it ever was love. That is why I am here. I need answers in order to figure out what to do next.

WISDOM
Is it beginning to make sense?

HOPE
I don’t know. Love is so complicated. Maybe it’s getting even more confusing. I’ve seen 2 men in love with the same girl, a girl who is going to tell on her best friend, a father who supposedly loves his daughter, but he’s willing to see her die if she disobeys him, another guy who is lead away from his journey for the Great King by a beautiful maiden, and a girl who rejects a great man for riches. Is love ever uncomplicated?

WISDOM
Love itself is a journey. I hear two young lovers running.

HELENA
(off stage) Demetrius! Wait! Demetrius!

HOPE
It sounds like Helena. Is she chasing Demetrius?

WISDOM
There is much more to this story.
